Assisi Veterinary Hospice and Euthanasia is a family owned and operated business in Rapid City SD and surrounding areas. We know that saying goodbye to a beloved pet is extremely challenging and we are here to help.
Our mission is to provide families a compassionate, loving and peaceful end-of-life care for their pets in the comfort of their home. Our approach is systematic but personalized to fit each animal’s specific needs.
St Francis of Assisi, Patron Saint of peace and of animals, is best known for his love of nature and belief that all creatures, animals included, should be given their rightful place in God’s creation. He believed animals deserve our love and respect. St Francis’ spirituality was actually strengthened by his love for animals, and he even referred to them as his brothers and sisters. A famous quote by him is “Not to hurt our humble brethren -animals- is our first duty to them, but to stop there is not enough. We have a higher mission: to be of service to them whenever they require it”. He is also famous for his devotion to the poor and the sick, and his advocacy for peace and reconciliation.
Following St Francis teachings and example, we strive to want to care for animals until their last moments. We have the obligation to do that.
